“American Honey” by Photographer Julien Sage

Functioning as a tour manager for rock and roll bands, photographer Julien Sage (beforehand featured in this article) managed three distinct US excursions among 2019 and 2022, having him from his home state of California to the Northeastern edges of the region and back again again. “During these trips I would enter into a specified mode of existence that is exceptionally non permanent and, therefore, sensitive,” he describes. “I discovered myself getting to be significantly curious about the items I was equipped to practical experience and internalize during a time of this sort of swift movement.”

Bringing his digicam together for the experience, Sage took the option to photograph outdoors of America’s metropolitan hubs, capturing the absurd and lovely moments he encountered over the training course of his travels. “Were they to stand by yourself, these photos could be boiled down to snapshots,” he says. “Some of my favourite photographic undertakings could be equally described.” Motivated by the tradition of American street trip pictures, Sage views the photographs in “American Honey” as a continuation of that lineage, detailing: The photos necessarily mean a ton to me ideal now and they intended a whole lot when I was generating them but actually, they are supposed to age. My beloved thing about images is the accumulation of indicating around time. Men and women, sites and things are amazing resources to enable visually explain the passing of time.”
