Subliminal Tasks is happy to current MUCHO, by Mexican-American visible artist and manner designer Sofia Enriquez. The exhibition showcases the breadth of Enriquez’s observe which include high-quality art, sculpture, bespoke hand-made installations, and clothes. In partnership with Obey Apparel and in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, the artist will launch a new limited T-shirt and a sequence of find hand-painted objects from the Obey Outfits line, exhibited in a pop-up MUCHO X OBEY store within the exhibition.
Enriquez’s perform investigates her intercultural id via the use of vibrant distinctive symbolism, making an automobile- biographical legend that weaves themes of Mexican-catholic iconography, indigenous homage, Spanglish textual content, modern day pop-society references, and feminine energy. This special type has garnered her collaborations with the Coachella and Stage Mentor new music festivals, a tailor made constrained Dickies collection, and a solo exhibition at the Hawaii State Artwork Museum, as effectively as a number of mural jobs during Southern California.

The exhibition serves as a study of MUCHO as a brand and visual expression of Enriquez’s personal encounter as a female artist coming from a working-course immigrant relatives, and what it signifies to realize results in the backdrop of discovering her own cultural id.
